VFW To Hold 5K for Wounded Warrior Project

Sign up now for the inaugural 5K run and help a worthy cause.

is getting ready for its inaugural 5K run to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project.

The race is scheduled to begin at the VFW on July 29, bring runners through the flat, tree-lined streets of East Brunswick, and back to the Headquarters for awards and a post race party.

You can register online at www.jerseyrunner.com or in person beginning at 7:30 p.m. on the day of the event. The race begins at 9 a.m. and the awards presentation and party will run from about 10 a.m. to noon.

Everyone who is registered will get a free T-shirt while supplies last and medals will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the following age categories: 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

Online registration before July 22 is $20, and $25 after then.

Organizer Tommy Coohill says that 100 people have already registered and that he hopes to have 50 more.
