MLK Day, EBPL Events This Week in East Brunswick

Events in and around town this week.

Monday

Martin Luther King Day

Municipal offices will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. day. No solid waste will be collected. Collection will resume on Tuesday.

Martin Luther King Day of Service, Mapleton Preserve/D&R Canal State Park Headquarters, 145 Mapleton Road, Kingston, noon.

Put on your work boots and join Friends of Princeton Nursery Lands for an invigorating cleanup session. Bring tools such as saws, clippers, loppers and rakes.  Work gloves, sturdy shoes, warm clothing and hats are recommended. It's free and all are welcome. Crafty Creations, East Brunswick Public Library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick, 10:30 a.m.

Make a quick, beautiful, not-too-messy craft. For ages 2 and up with an adult. 

Wednesday

Duct Tape Craft, East Brunswick Public Library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick, 4 p.m.

Create something cool with duct tape, for grades 2-5.

Thursday

Living and Laughing by the Chopsticks, East Brunswick Public Library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick, 7 p.m.

With good humor, participants are encouraged to realize, understand, and laugh about how we all are at least bi-cultural (by ethnicity, gender, etc.) in a way that shatters stereotypes but explains the generalizations. Co-sponsored by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
