Police are seeking two men who tried to rob Harry's Gold on Route 18.
A business owner on Route 18 allegedly chased two armed robbers out of his store with a legal handgun, said police. Police said two men, one with a black handgun, entered Harry’s Gold on Route 18 today (Tuesday, Nov 13) at 3:44 p.m., at a point that it was empty of customers. Once in the store, one of the men tried to enter a locked office. The owner of the store then produced his own handgun, which he had a legal permit to carry. Both suspects then left the store without any stolen items or money and ran northbound on Route 18. Numerous police units from East Brunswick and South River searched for the suspects but were unsuccessful. Both suspects had disguised themselves by wearing black masks over their faces. Robbery comes day after three men were charged with robbing the station earlier this month.
Police are investigating yet another armed robbery at the Hess Station on Route 18. According to police, a white male dressed in black and wearing a black mask entered the gas station at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, pointed a black handgun at the attendant and demanded money. The attendant handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash at which time the suspect ran away. He was seen entering a dark colored sedan driven by a second white male, which then left the area. East Brunswick Patrol units searched the area without any results. Anyone with information should contact Detective Jason Haykel at 732-390-6990. Earlier on Thursday, police announced the arrest of three men connected to two previous robberies at the station. …

A man wearing a winter jacked robbed the Bellissimo Pizzeria on July 30.
Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with the July 30 armed robbery of Bellissimo Pizzeria on Route 18 in the Windsor Mall. According to police, an employee reported at the time that a male in a yellow winter jacket entered the pizzeria, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded money. The employee removed some money from the register and gave it to the suspect. When the suspect demanded more money, he was given what was left in the register and ran away, police said. The employee then went into the back room to contact police. Police are seeking four suspects in connection with the Wednesday morning robbery.
Police are seeking four suspects wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a Hess Station on Route 18, Wednesday, April 25 at 12:34 am. According to police, three suspects, two men and one women, entered the station wearing black hooded sweatshirts and ski masks . Police said that one of the men had a knife and all three appeared to be armed with what an employee thought were paintball guns. While one of the suspects held the employee at bay with the knife, the other two suspects took an undetermined amount of cash from the register. The suspects also stole several packs of cigarettes. A South River man lied to police about being robbed.
A South River man told police that his wallet containing $900 was stolen, but later told police the truth - he simply lost it. According to police, Glauco Cardoso, 26, reported at 7:44 a.m. that he was walking down Parker Street when two people jumped out from behind a car, told him they had a gun and demanded his wallet, which contained the $900. As officers searched the area, detectives canvassed the neighborhood and spoke to residents who said they didn’t see or hear anything. Soon after, Cardoso told Detective Jason Haykel that he lied about there being two suspects and that the robbery actually occurred a few blocks away, on Highland Street. Fishman announced. Earlier this week, Joseph Passalaqua, 56, was sentenced to 190 months in prison for the same offenses.
