Mark Motusesky will coach boys' basketball, Keith Lane will coach girls basketball and Caitlyn LeBlon will be head cheerleading coach.
The Board of Education approved new coaches for cheerleading and boys and girls basketball earlier this month. The new boys basketball head coach will be Mark Motusesky, the girls’ basketball coach will be Keith Lane, and the head cheerleading coach will be Caitlyn LeBlon. Frank Noppenberger, Supervisor of Athletics and Physical Education, said Motuseky and Lane have a lot of similarities including, the fact that they both played basketball for him (Noppenberger), were both JV coaches under recently retired Bo Henning, and both were part of two GMC Championship teams. The Boy's Varsity Basketball Team defeated Hunterdon Central Wednesday in the second round of state play.
Gary Baumer lead the scoring Wednesday night with 17 points as the Bears defeated Hunterdon Central in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 championships. The team got off to a fast start and never looked back, finishing up with a 68-38 victory. The team faces North Brunswick on Friday at 7 p.m. at the East Brunswick High School.

The Bears defeated Monroe 83 to 55 Monday and will face Hunterdon Central Wednesday.
Gary Baumer scored 26 points and Rob Ukawuba scored 23 to lead the East Brunswick Bears over the Monroe Falcons in the first round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 championships on Monday, according to www.nj.com. The team lead the entire way, eventualy winning 83-55, with Baumer scoring 8, 3-point shots along the way, according to nj.com. The team will face 9th seed Hunterdon Central on Wednesday, 7 p.m. at EBHS. Make sure you come out and support the team!

The Bears have been on a role. At 17-1, the boy’s varsity basketball team is gearing up for what could be a special year. After big wins this week over Bishop Ahr (61-34) and Colonia (55-23), the squad will hit the road against Old Bridge tonight, ad then face Piscataway at EBHS at 7 p.m., Thursday, according to www.nj.com. The top ranked boys basketball teams cruised to a victory Saturday over Bridgewater-Raritan 67 to 43, according to nj.com. Gary Baumer lead the scoring with 19 points, improving the squad’s record to 12-0. The win came in the Skyand Conference vs. Greater Middlesex Conference Challenge. The Churchill Junior High School freshman boys basketball team are kings of the court! The squad defeated top seeded North Brunswick 57-53 to capture the Greater Middlesex County Conference Tournament, according to GMC Hoops Blogosphere. According to the web site, the Bears were led to victory by guard John McHenry, and forward Nick Fudali while the Raiders were paced by Kishnan Patel in defeat. The Bears basketball team is having a great season so far.
