Vendors Needed for Friends Sale

The Friends of the Library is getting ready for its annual yard sale!

Clean out your house and make some cash for the summer at the largest Community Yard Sale in the area. Sign up now to sell at the Friends of the East Brunswick Library Community Yard Sale on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Brunswick High School on Cranbury Road.  Double parking spaces will be $20. Additional single parking spaces are available for $10 (first come, first serve). Refunds will be given if the event is canceled. Food and restrooms will be available at the event. Sellers will be allowed to set up at 8 a.m. We have a limited number of spots available, so register now. Food vendors are welcome. In addition, the Friends have arranged for all unwanted and unsold merchandise that day to be picked up at 1 p.m. Tax …

Get Books, Movies at More at Friends Sale

The Friends of the Library is getting ready for it's annual Book & Media Sale in April.

Imagine the Journey you can take with a new collection of books, videos, movies and music. Get started on that journey at the 39th Annual Friends of The Library Book & Media Sale to be held from Monday, April 15, through Sunday, April 21, in the Center Court at the East Brunswick Square Mall. This is The Friends’ biggest event of the year and the most popular book sale in Central New Jersey. Customers get to pick from a variety of hardcovers, paperbacks, best sellers, science books, mysteries, classics and more all at affordable prices. You’ll also get to choose from an assortment of music, videos, DVDs and audiobooks. Friends of the Library Kicks Off Membership Drive

Give back to the library by helping the Friends of the Library.

The East Brunswick Friends of The Library is getting ready to start a month-long membership drive beginning Jan 1.  The Friends has been an enthusiastic and generous supporter of the Library for more than thirty years, providing funds beyond the capabilities of the budget and a wide range of terrific programming. For the first time in its history, the Friends have had to donate money for the sole purpose of the Library buying books for its collection. The donations have been made to help the Library during difficult economic times. In addition, the Friends funds all children’s programs, including the TLC program, and prizes for Youth and Teen Services programs, including the Summer Reading Program. Friends of the Library to Hold tricky Tray Fundraiser

Win great prizes and help the library at the same time!

Win a terrific prize from a great local business and help the East Brunswick Friends of the Library at the same time. The Friends will be holding a Tricky Tray on Friday, Oct. 12, in the East Brunswick High School Cafeteria. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the drawing begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $8 and includes one sheet of 25 tickets. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Library’s Circulation Desk beginning Monday, Aug. 20. Tickets at the door will be $10. The event is expected to see 400 people attend, and all the money collected will be used to purchase new books and provide all youth services and adult programming, including lectures, youth reading programs, teen summer programs, scholarships and film festivals. Prizes Needed for East Brunswick Friends of the Library Fundraiser

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library is looking to the community for help with its next fundraiser. The group is seeking donations of brand new items, gift certificates or money to be used as prizes for its upcoming Tricky Tray Fundraiser, to be held on Friday, Oct. 12, at the East Brunswick High School. All donations received by Oct. 1 will be listed in the event program. In addition, since the East Brunswick Friends of the Library is a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt, non-profit volunteer organization, all donations are fully tax deductible. Head to the Friends Book Sale Tonight

The 38th Annual Friends of the Library Book & Media Sale will run through Sunday, April 1. Head to the Brunswick Square Mall and get great deals.

Head to the 38th Annual Library Book & Media Sale tonight for a puppet show by the East Brunswick Public Library's Youth Services Department. The show will be held at the JC Penney court at the East Brunswick Square Mall at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday, March 29). While you're there, get pick up great books on cooking, science, fiction and more, as wellas music, videos DVDs and audiobooks all for low prices. This is The Friends’ biggest event of the year and the most popular book sale in Central New Jersey. The sale will be held in the JC Penney Court. Mall hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. cash and checks are accepted. Sorry, no credit cards. ATMs are located in the mall.

Humor Writer Deb Amlen to Appear at The Library (Video)

Author and crossword puzzle builder Deb Amlen will be the guest at Monday's Friends of the Library Spring Meeting.

What’s an eight-letter word for an unlikely humor writer? D-E-B A-M-L-E-N. That’s technically a three-letter word followed by a five-letter word, true, but it doesn’t make Deb Amlen’s rise from successful crossword constructor to successful novelist any less amazing. And on Monday, May 2, you can hear the story straight from Amlen herself, when she appears at the East Brunswick Public Library as a guest of the Friends of the Library.
