The EBSC girls soccer team won 5-1 in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 tournament.
Sydney Rosa scored three goals Monday to lead the East Brunswick Bears over South Brunswick in the first round of the Central Jersey Group 4 tournament. The squad beat the Vikings 5-2. The East Brunswick Varsity Girls Soccer team will be moving onto the next round of the GMCs after a big win on Saturday. The Bears topped Colonia 4-0 in the first round in a game played in East Brunswick. The squad was led by Sydney Rosa, who scored three goals. The East Brunswick Girls Soccer team had a big week. After a 5-0 win over Piscataway on Saturday, the bears defeated South Brunswick 6-2 on Tuesday to capture it’s the Greater Middlesex Conference-Red Division Championship for the ninth straight year. Natasha Ntone Kouo scored three goals and assisted on two others and Sydney Rosa added two goals. Julia Wescott scored the opening goal, according to www.nj.com. The East Brunswick Girls Varsity Soccer Team gave up it's dream of winning the GMC for the ninth straight time after losing 2-1 Thursday.
After leading for much of the game, East Brunswick gave up two goals in 30 seconds to South Brunswick in the semi-final round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. The Bears took the lead in the first half when Cristina Estremera scored. In the second half, South Brunswick tied it when defender Cagnie Antzcak hit a high bouncing pass that went over the head of the East Brunswick Defender. Thirty seconds later Casey Armstrong scored to put the Vikings up 2-1. Head Coach Kevin Brady said his squad played well, and that he is proud of them, despite the tough loss.
