Celebrating the Holidays

Lights celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas are on display at the municipal complex.

East Brunswick is celebrating the holidays with a light show of its own. On Saturday, the first day of Hanukkah, the township's Menorah was lit up. Maccabeats to Headline at B'Nai Shalom

This year's tri-synagogue concert will feature the Maccabeats in concert.

Celebrate Hanukkah Saturday, Dec. 15, with a concert by the Maccabeats. To be held at Temple B’nai Shalom, this tri-synagogue concert is also sponsored by Young Israel of East Brunswick and the East Brunswick Jewish Center. The Maccabeats, originally formed in 2007 as Yeshiva University’s student vocal group, have recently emerged as both Jewish music and a cappella phenomenon, with a large fan base, more than 10 million views on YouTube, numerous TV appearances, and success with two albums, 2010′s Voices From The Heights and 2012′s Out Of The Box. Celebrate Hanukkah with Chabad of East Brunswick

Come watch as Israeli troops by Lebanon and Hebron, Israel light the Menorah.

  Celebrate Hanukkah with the Chabad of East Brunswick this Sunday at the East Brunswick Square Mall near JC Penney. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Israeli troops stationed by Lebanon and soldiers in Hebron Israel will launch a simulcast Menorah lighting to celebrate Hanukkah. Chabad of East Brunswick has arranged to have a joint exercise in liberty by lighting the Menorah at military bases by Lebanon and Hebron.  Children will have the opportunity to have direct conversation with the soldiers, and also can be paired as “pen-pals” with the soldiers. The festivities will include the joint Menorah lighting followed by a lighting here in New Jersey by Mayor David Stahl. There also will be music, crafts, “Latkes” potato pancakes, doughnuts and more. …

Holidays to Light Up East Brunswick

A menorah and Christmas tree will be on display at the Municipal Pond during the holiday season.

Municipal workers set up a menorah and strung lights on a Christmas tree thsi week at the Municipal Pond. Spreading the Hanukkah Light

Chabad of East Brunswick held a menorah lighting Thursday that included Israeli and U.S. Troops from overseas.

The Chabad of East Brunswick celebrated Hanukkah Thursday in the JC Penney wing of the East Brunswick Square Mall by holding a video conference with U.S. troops in Afghanistan, Israeli troops in Israel, and their family members. More than 250 people came by the event, which included a feast of latkes, doughnuts, cotton candy, snow cones, an olive press demonstration, crafts and more.

Hanukkah Begins

The Township Menorah was lit at sundown Tuesday.

Hanukkah began at sundown Tuesday and will last for eight days. The townhip menorah will keep track by lighting one new candle every night. A new light will go on at just before 5 p.m. each evening. The menorah is located next to the township Christmas tree in the municipal complex.

Counting Down to Eight Days of Light

The tonwship Menorah was brought to the Municipal complex Monday.

Township workers spent Monday morning assembling a Menorah at the Municipal Complex. The Menora will be lit beginning Dec. 21, the first night of the holiday.
