Re-Enacting Paul Robeson at the Library

Performer Marvin Jefferson will portray Paul Robson at the East Brunswick Public Library

Celebrate Black History Month at the East Brunswick Public Library during a wonderful performance honoring Paul Robeson, Sunday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. Join actor Marvin Jefferson as he brings Paul Robeson to life during a first-person historical narrative. Robeson, the son of a former slave, was one of the most well-known African-Americans of the 20th century. He was a renaissance man: a social activist, singer, scholar, actor, All- American athlete at Rutgers, intellectual, lawyer, linguist, humanist and advocate for international peace. Paul Robeson's voice is forever connected with his signature song, Ol'Man River, from the film classic, Showboat.
