East Brunswick Company Faces Penalties For Operating Without Licenses
Two companies were among 25 charged in sting operation
An East Brunswick moving company has been charged with operating their businesses without a license by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. Me & My Small Truck, of East Brunswick, is among 25 charged as a result of an undercover sting operation peformed by the two agencies. Each company faces a civil penalty of up to $2,500, but those who apply for licensure within 30 days can have their penalty reduced to $1,250, according to a release from the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. Did they go after they guys who ripped off the customers or was the licensing the only concern. I understand the point about protecting consumers, but i just don't get the sense that they went after those "predatory" movers. To me this just comes across as government hammering the little guys who are desperately trying to scratch out a living in this tough economy.   more ›
