The Boy's Varsity Basketball Team defeated Hunterdon Central Wednesday in the second round of state play.
Gary Baumer lead the scoring Wednesday night with 17 points as the Bears defeated Hunterdon Central in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 championships. The team got off to a fast start and never looked back, finishing up with a 68-38 victory. The team faces North Brunswick on Friday at 7 p.m. at the East Brunswick High School.

East Brunswick got it's first chance to show how got it is by defeateding Perth Amboy Friday 30-61.
The East Brunswick High School boys basketball team has a combined 41 wins the past two seasons. According to Coach Bo Henning, don't expect to see much of a change this year. "Our scrimmages have gone well," Henning said. "The kids have done a good job to prepare for the season. If I don't mess it up, we should have a good season." Henning was just having some fun. He's in his 24th year on the job and guided the team to a 21-5 mark last season. He knows what he's doing. "We have a chance to be really good," Henning said. "We have a good nucleus back from last season. We lost five players, but only one starter." East Brunswick has five guys back that were at least part-time starters last season. Varsity football squad falls to Edison, Friday.
The East Brunswick Bears were defeated by Edison High School 40-32 Friday at Edison, dropping the team's record to 0-2.
