Daisy Association Fundraiser will include food, massages, hair and fashion tips and a few surprises.
Ken Freedman knows a little bit about taking care of children. During his more than three decades as a chiropractor, Dr. Freedman has taken care of more than his share of children. The 28th Annual Ralph Lamo Daisy Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, April 10.
Even a simple activity, maybe a bowling trip with some friends, can make a world of difference to someone with a disability. Thanks to the township’s Daisy Recreation Program, activities for young people with special needs–including games, parties, fitness and exercise classes and a summer camp program--are common place, and they’ve been making a world of difference for close to 50 years right here in East Brunswick. “We provide these folks the chance to participate in programs and opportunities they may not obviously get a chance to participate in,” said Michael Reissner, manager of the township’s Division of Recreation and Community Services. On Sunday, April 10, the Annual Ralph Lamo Memorial Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon …

I volunteered at Camp Daisy for two summers growing up, when I was a student at Churchill. I learned so many life lessons through that experience, including a lifelong love of volunteering to help others. I still remember each of the kids in the groups I helped to supervise. We'd swim at Dallenbach's every morning, then caravan back to Bicentennial Park for lunch and afternoon programming. We …   more ›
