Garbage and Recycling Schedule for the Holiday

Garbage and recycling collection has been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

All municipal offices will be closed today (Monday) and Tuesday for the Christmas holiday, and that means a change in the garbage and recycling schedules. There will be no solid waste collected on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Instead, garbage collection will be the following day, Wednesday, Dec. 26. There will be no recycling on Tuesday for District 7, (the area near Route 18 and the Old Bridge Turnpike). Recycling will instead be collected on Saturday, Dec. 29. NJ TRANSIT Offers Extra Service in Anticipation of Busy Holiday Week

The agency will also offer discounts to families traveling over the holidays.

NJ TRANSIT will offer additional service over the holiday week, along with a special extension of the Family Super Saver Fare, according to a press release from the agency. The Family Super Saver Far allows up to two children 11-years-old and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult and will be offered from 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 21 through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2 on all trains, buses and light rail lines.   Extra service will provide more travel options, according to the release, whether customers are heading toward the mall for some last-minute shopping or getting a head start on the Christmas holiday. NJ Transit to Offer Extra Trains During the Holiday Week

NJ TRANSIT has announced additional holiday service along with a special extension of the Family Super Saver Fare, allowing up to two children ages 5 through 11 to travel free with each customer paying/presenting any valid fare.  Usually limited to weekends, the Family Super Saver Fare will be in effect continuously from 7 p.m. Friday, December 23 through 6 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, on all trains, buses and light rail lines.  This extension is offered in addition to NJ TRANSIT’s policy which allows up to three children who are 4 years old and under to travel free of charge at all times with each passenger paying/presenting any valid fare NJ TRANSIT will offer extra service for the upcoming holidays to give customers more travel options, …

Gridlock Relief: Extra Rail, Bus, Customer Service for Holiday Travelers

Kids 11 and under ride free on NJ Transit all holiday weekend.

Whether you’re traveling over the river or through the woods, NJ Transit is gearing up to provide gridlock relief during the approaching holiday season.  Starting Wednesday, Nov. 23 and continuing through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, scores of NJ Transit customer service representatives and volunteers will be deployed at major facilities to assist customers, with rail and bus service adjusted to match Thanksgiving travel patterns. This year, NJ Transit will once again offer “early getaway” rail and bus service on Wednesday, Nov. 23, for the benefit of customers leaving work early, and to provide additional capacity for customers traveling to Newark Liberty International Airport.
