ReplyYes why can't we have a trader joes or whole foods??? The town is going to go even more downhill once walmart opens. My husband and I are getting out of here asap! No nice places to go out to have a drink unless you like hooters or the irish hooters, no fireworks in the summer, places are closing left and right and the taxes are higher than ever. Ughhh!!!! Build a nice martini bar so we have something else to do besides going to shoprite!

ReplyPseg is NOT doing a great job. At crosspointe We had power on thurs and yesterday it went out again. They said they had to shut us so they could work on it and bring others up. I think that is a lie bc why do they hv power at lake estates which is less than 500 feet from my house!! The fact that they purposely cut our power doesnt sit right with me. They are playing games with our lives and our health. Ive been sick to my stomach all nite bc it is so cold! I dont think they were working on the power in the middle of the nite so why couldnt they turn it back on? I'll tell u why, bc they have no clue what they are doing!! I saw a truck driving around from ohio and a few mins later we had no power. There are too many hands in the pot and nobody is in charge! We need leadership and pseg needs to get fined for doing this to us! Who is going protect us from their negligent decisions?! We need a leader mayor stahl!! You will not get my vote this time around!! I am beyond pissed. Your leadership is pathetic! DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the article POLL: Do you Feel Safe in New Brunswick?

ReplyI went to Rutgers for both my undergrad and graduate degrees and I do not feel safe at night in New Brunswick. The problem is that the city was built on top of a low SES community and the people are not going to just go away -no matter how much they try to keep them confined to those few blocks btwn dgls campus and CAC. It is only common sense.

On the article Area Fireworks and Independence Day Celebrations Begin Sunday

ReplyWow. I have been an EB resident for 12 years, and I too am sick of having to go to either Milltown to watch the fireworks or go down the shore. I agree that the taxes are way too high for us not to have some sort of celebration. How can all these other towns manage to pull it off and not us? New Brunswick, Highland Park, Sayreville, Milltown... the list goes on! I'm also tired of everyone fighting about the golden triangle. While it is ridiculous, it is water under the bridge. We need to look toward the future and figure out what we can do to improve our quality of life. In my opinion, 4th of July fireworks are a necessity not a luxury. Note to future or current leaders: if you are looking for funding somewhere, how about the dog park?? How much does that cost to maintain? No fireworks but we have a dog park... Great! Well thank goodness Milltown has it together so my family will have a place to go today. Thanks East Brunswick!

Tim Pernetti got the good old RU screw. They wouldn't let him fire Rice and now he's out of a job. Barchi needs to go. Really you didn't watch the tape? The board of directors are a bunch of bumbling idiots for keeping him. Pay him 650,000 a yr so he can continue to not protect the students. Humiliating to keep seeing RU in the news. Get it together!
