I'm not a teacher and you're delusional if you think that teachers are to blame for everything.Put you kids in priavte school and try to dictate gto them how you want things done.Good luck with that. How about you teaching your kids character, good citizenship, etc.?That'syour jobs as a parent. Now,take of the tin foil hat. It's cutting off the circulation to your brain.Oh,yes, there's a full moon tomorrow.

John,I was discussing schools here in Middletown. This is the Middletown Patch.I've lived her all of my life, and yes,it is common for teachers who live in this district to send their kids to our schools.I'll take you word about West Orange. My kids attended schools here K-12.They always scored in the 90+ percentile on standarized tests, and yet many parent blamed the same teachers for their kids poor performance. Some of these kids didn't do their homework and were allowed to take time off for vacations during the school year, sporting events, etc. And some of the parents with learnind disabled kids DO blame the teachers because their kids don't perform like those without disabilties.
You mention students being absent for 10 days. Are yhou balming teachers for that, too?

john,if the kids don't complete their assignments, they are not going to be profient in anything. What about the ones, who, taught by the same teachers, manage to learn. When my kids were in Middletown public schools, some of their classmates were children of Middletown teachers. So,there you have it.Blaming the teachers because a special needs child isn't an A student is ridiculous.Don;t you get the fact that we all have different strengths and abilities?

I'd like to know why they voted not to rehire him in the 1st place. Was it just so that he wouldn't have tenure or did they dig up so dirt on him.As a taxpayer and a voter,I'd really like to know.

James,I don't think anyone is saing that. But,if your child isn't a straight A student or accepted at an Ivy League college, don't blame his or her teachers. One of my neighbor's kids is a special needs student. She realized before he even went to school that he would never be a doctor or lawyer,or ever win a Nobel Prize. He goes to school every day and will graduate.

All I;m saying is that, depending on a student's learning disabiilty, the may not be able to perform as well as those without learning disabilities. Some of thse kids try very hard and should be encouraged. Some kids without disabilites don't perform well because their parents don't care if they do their homework or study. It seem that in this day and age, everyone blames the teachers, without looking for other reasons.

Jack,I would say both. The parents stress the the importance of gettung a good education. So,the kids want to learn.
I have spoken to a few teachers wanted to "change the world" of their students is failing districts.only to be met by kids not doing their homework and not participating in class.I can imagine their frustration, putting all of their efforts into trying to teach these kids, and being ignored.Calls and notes home to parents go were unanswered. One mother called the principal to tell 1 of these teachers to stop bothering her.

Bayview has more learning disabled students. These kids may work very hard, but cannot measure up to their non-disabled classmates.Neither the kids, the teachers nor the principal are to blame.

g,what motivaates the teachers in he more affluent communities is that the parents value education snd don't give their kids the option of not doing their best.I do think that new teachers go into the classrooms in poor performing districts expecting to work very hard to motivate their students.Note home to parents about their kids poor performance are often met with deaf ears,or angry phone calls to the principal telling him or her that the teacher is not to bother them again.
