Celebrate East Brunswick at Community Day

The 24th Annual Community Day is scheduled for Sunday.

Stop by the Cultural Arts Center on Sunday, met some friends, have some fun and learn more about the community.

East Brunswick is set for the 24th Annual Community Day at the Cultural Arts Center on Sunday, April 7 from noon to 3 p.m.

The event is a chance for the town to acknowledge the wonderful contributions of the many nonprofit and volunteer-based organizations in the township.

Forty groups will participate including the American Cancer Society; Girl Scouts, East Brunswick Woman's Club; various ethnic groups that are active in our community such as the Indian Cultural Society and the CACA Mid-Jersey Chinese School; Jewish Family Services, the Raritan Valley YMCA, East Brunswick Elks, The Kiwanis Club of East Brunswick; youth sports groups; and many, many more.

Free face painting by the East Brunswick Youth Council will take place all afternoon. There also will be an afternoon of continuous entertainment in our talent showcase from noon to 4 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center Theater. Mayor David Stahl will be on hand at noon to kick things off, followed with a performance by the East Brunswick High School Jazz Ensemble.  Next will be the Playhouse 22 theater group, followed by a cultural dance by the Indian Cultural Society. After that enjoy another cultural dance and Yo-Yo performances by the CACA Mid-Jersey Chinese School; the East Brunswick Young Adult Charity Players, who will do a few numbers from their recent performance; and finally, a magic show.
