Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka to Appear at Barnes & Noble

The wreslting icon is promoting his book, "The Jimmy Snuka Story." Also on hand is Tim Sullivan and David Ferry, who will discuss their books as well.

A star-studded line up is expected to headline at the East Brunswick Barnes & Noble Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

Three author discussions and autograph signings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, including an appearance by professional wrestling legend Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.

“Superfly will be on hand to discuss his book, “The Jimmy Snuka Story.” The event will include a discussion and a book signing. Also appearing on Friday will be David Ferry, author of “The Total Mets Encyclopedia,” and Tim Sullivan, author of “Battle on the Hudson—The Devils & the Rangers.”

On Saturday, mystery author E.J. Copperman will sign his book, “Old Haunts,” from 1 to 3 p.m.

Cathy Genna, of Barnes & Noble, said you must purchase a book to get an autograph (no memorabilia), but the discussion is free.

“I have a lot of mystery fiction and romance authors here,” said Genna. “The sports one kind of fell in my lap  just from knowing other authors, and it kind of expanded fast. It all came about in the past 6 or 7  days.”

Of particular interested is Snuka’s appearance. A wrestling icon in the 80s, the superstar has never shared his personal story before, said Genna.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, the store has three authors lined up.  New Jersey folklore author Karen E. Timper, who penned “Folklore of the New Jersey Shore: History, the Supernatural and Beyond,” will appear on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. From noon to 3 p.m., historical romance author Terri Brisbin, author of "The Highlander’s Stolen Touch,” and historical romance author Tina Gabrielle, “The Barrister’s Bed,” will appear from noon to 3 p.m.

Barnes & Noble is located in the Brunswick Square Mall.
