Looking For a Pet? Adopt One This Weekend

Help find a new home for a pet this weekend by attending one of three adoption events sponsored by the this weekend. ARF holds weekly adoption events throughout the area to find homes for animals that would have been euthanized in a shelter or whose parents can no longer care for them.

Every Saturday and Sunday you can find ARF at the PetSmart on Route 18 in East Brunswick from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; at the Petco on Route 1 in Edison from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and at the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Road, Englishtown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (located in the big gray building). While many animals are available, here are just a few you can find this weekend.

Luigi is a young poodle/fox terrier mix, maybe about a year old. He’s usually scared at first, but warms up. He is a little too active for toddlers AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR HOMES WITH CHILREN. He needs obedience training and loves to play with other dogs, but does play enthusiastically. See the accompanying video of him playing with his buddy Kay, also up for adoption. He has been neutered, and he is  crate trained. To adopt him will cost $250, which includes his neuter, heartworm test, ID chip and shots. Luigi will be at the Petco adoption center in Edison on Route 1 in the Home Depot Shopping Center Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Check the ARF site on Saturday and Sunday to see if anything has changed.

Sam is a 7-year-old male, neutered miniature pinscher. He’s people friendly but not friendly with other dogs. He’s been housetrained and takes eye drops for dry eye. He’s up-to-date on his routine shots. Sam is expected to be at PetSmart in East Brunswick at the Midstate Mall, on Route 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Baxter is a black and white neutered male cat. He’s very sweet and about 1-½ years old He’s up-to-date on his shots. He has been spayed and neutered and is house trained. Baxter will be at the PetSmart Location in East Brunswick at the Midstate Mall on Route 18 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
