Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Opens This Weekend

The Tennessee Williams drama will be performed at the Cultural Arts Center at the corner of Cranbury and Dunhams Corner roads.

Playhouse 22 will be presenting  Tennessee Williams’s classic drama "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" through the end of the month.

The show will open tonight (Friday, Feb. 10) and run until Sunday, Feb. 26.

The play is about a powerful Southern family that gathers at a birthday celebration for patriarch Big Daddy, who does not know that he is dying of cancer. In a scramble to secure their part of his estate, family members hide the truth about his diagnosis from him and Big Mama. Front and center as tensions mount is an alcoholic former football hero, Brick, and his beautiful but sexually frustrated wife Maggie “the Cat” as their troubled relationship comes to a stormy and steamy climax, a shockwave of secrets are finally revealed.
 
Directed by Jon Heron, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" stars Tara Cioletti as Maggie; Zach Chrzan as Brick; Sherry Lilenfeld as Big Mama; and Bob Dumpert as Big Daddy.  The ensemble features Mike Sundburg as Gooper; Amy Wells as Mae; Pete Trabucco as Rev. Tooker and Ken Paris as Doc Baugh. 
In addition, Matthew Cox, Caden Dowgin, Genevieve Fabian, Jaime Lewis and Andrew Mercurio appear as the children of the family.  Because of adult content and language, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is recommended for mature audiences and parental guidance is suggested.

All shows are Friday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students, and are available online at Playhouse22.org, by calling the Box Office at 732-254-3939 or at the Box Office window.  Playhouse 22 is located at the at 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
