East Brunswick Tax Bills Above the State Average
The township also saw one of the lowest tax rate hikes in the state, according to Star-Ledger analysis
East Brunswick's overall tax bills remain above the state average, but it's 2012 increase was among the lowest.
The township's 2012 tax hike was 0.8 percent, below the state average increase of 1.7 percent, and well short of the highest increase, 78.8 percent, in Washington Township in Warren County, according to a Star-Ledger analysis.
The average Municipal tax bill was $1,733.38 in 2012, below the state average of $2,324.66, to the report.

The average school tax bill in East Brunswick was $5,764.01, above the state average school tax bill of $4,120.16, according to the report.
The Star-Ledger reported noted that property taxes statewide rose 2.4 percent in 2011, the first year Christie’s 2 percent cap was in effect. But the trend of lower increases could be reversed because of Hurricane Sandy, according to the report.
