Independent Fire Department Helps Sandy Victims

The department is holding a food and cash drive this weekend.

Bring your donations of non-perishable food and money to the East Brunswick Independent Fire Department on Sunday and help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The fire company is conducting a boot drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a food drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

People can drop off food at the Dunhams Corner Road firehouse (180 Dunhams Corner Road) or the Willow Street firehouse (216 Joseph St.) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all day.

The “boot drive” will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dunhams Corner station, and at the intersection of Old Bridge Turnpike and Cranbury Road, just past the Willow Street station. Drivers and passersby will be asked to help fill boots with cash donations.
