Weather Forecast for Sunday and Monday

Hurricane Irene is hitting hard, but on Monday, it will be 80 degrees and sunny.

Here’s the latest report from the National Weather Service.

During the overnight, tropical storm conditions are expected, with hurricane conditions possible. Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 71. East wind 34 to 39 mph increasing to between 35 and 45 mph. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between three and four inches possible.

On Sunday, more tropical storm conditions are expected, with hurricane conditions possible. Rain and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 5 p.m., then a chance of rain and thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 78. North wind 45 to 55 mph decreasing to between 30 and 35 mph. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between two and three inches possible.

On Sunday night there will be a chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 55. Breezy, with a west wind 17 to 20 mph decreasing to between 9 and 12 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent with new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

On Monday, it will be 80 degrees and sunny.
