Hess Station Robbed Twice In a Week

Police do not know if the station was robbed by the same men each time.

Police say the same Hess Gas Station on Route 18 was robbed twice within a week.

At 2:44 a.m., Monday, July 30, police responded to the Hess Gas Station at 624 Route 18 after they received a report of an armed robbery. According to police, the attendant was approached by two men who demanded money. The men told the attendant they had a weapon and forced him into the office. Once inside, the bandits took an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes before running away in the direction of Prigmore Street.

Police said both suspects were wearing some type of bandanas over their faces to hide their identity. The first suspect is described as medium height and skinny. The second suspect was heavyset.

The gas station was hit again this week, when, at 2:05 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, an attendant was locked inside the office while two suspects attempted to gain entry into the store by pulling on the door and kicking it, police said.

According to police, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and pointed it at the attendant. The attendant hid inside the office and contacted the police. The suspects fled again in the direction of Prigmore Street.

The suspects in the second incident were wearing hooded sweatshirts, which they pulled over their heads, and ski masks to hide their identity, police said.
