Man Tries to Punch Police

Suspect kicks out patrol car's window during ride to corrections center.

A 27-year-old Sayreville man was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after he tried to kick and punch police and kicked out the window to a patrol car, Feb. 19.

Police were dispatched to Denny’s on Route 18 after receiving reports of a disorderly patron, Faruk Saylon, who was disruptive, shouting at customers and yelling “kill all cops.” After being taken into custody, Saylon became increasingly irate and began to kick the officers. Once at headquarters, he kicked and threw punches at two of the offers before being subdued and restrained, police said.

Once charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, he was taken to the Middlesex county Adult Correctional center in lieu of $10,000 bail. However, during the ride, he kicked out the window to one of the patrol cars and was subsequently charged with criminal mischief, police said.
