Rescue Teams Search for Swimmer Missing in Dallenbach Lake

A 21-year-old Somerset man was reported missing at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

Emergency workers will continue their search this morning for a 21-year-old man from Somerset reported missing while swimming at Dallenbach Lake with his family, Saturday.

Police said two of the man’s cousins saw him go under water and not come back up. Lifeguards from Crystal Springs were alerted shortly after and went into the lake in an attempt to find the swimmer, but were unsuccessful.

According to police, the East Brunswick Police Department and Brookview Fire District No. 3 Marine Unit responded to the lake, behind Crystal Springs on Dunhams Corner Road, at 6:20 p.m. They were followed by the Somerset Fire and Rescue and the N.J. State Police Teams Unit and Aviation Unit.

Divers and equipment entered the water as the Aviation Unit provided assistance from the air.

The search was called off at 10:30 p.m. and the search was expected to begin again this morning.
