District Launches Early Learning Academy

Program eyes 3 and 4 year olds with half day, full day and extended half-day sessions.

The East Brunswick School district is set to introduce the Early Learning Academy.

Beginning with the 2012-13 school year, the Early Learning Academy will provide parents of 3 and 4 year olds the opportunity to register their child for a five day/week, developmentally appropriate early learning experience within the school district. The fee-based, parent-pay program offers a several options, making it possible for children to be in a structured learning environment for a half-day (morning or afternoon), extended half-day or a regular school day (9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.). There is also an option for early morning and/or afterschool care.

The curriculum design and implementation will be based on the state Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and the Preschool Implementation Guidelines. Certified supervisors with expertise in the field of early childhood and school readiness will oversee the planning and preparation for the program.  The plans will be implemented by experienced and caring staff.
