The Preschool program has high school juniors and seniors interested in child development working with children age 3 to 5.

Get your application for the Preschool Education Program at the East Brunswick High School.

The Preschool Education Program at EBHS is a teaching laboratory course for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in child development and/or becoming a teacher. High school students observe, plan, and teach children, 3-5 years of age under the supervision high school teachers highly qualified in the area of family and consumer science.

In addition to being residents of East Brunswick, eligible children must be three years of age by Oct. 31, 2012 and not age eligible for kindergarten (5 years of age by Oct. 31, 2012) to participate in the program, which begins in October.

For approximately six weeks at the beginning of the school year, the high school students study child development as well as the guidance techniques and teaching methods needed to work with preschool-aged children. The preschool opens to preschoolers in mid-October. The high school students apply the skills and concepts they have learned to conduct the preschool program.

Applications are due on or before May 14.. Submitting an application does not guarantee entry into the program. Preschool participants are selected based on the information included on the application and applicants will be notified June 14.
