Bear of the Week: Sayaka Carpenter

Welcome to East Brunswick Patch’s Bear of the Week, a weekly look at some of the standout athletes in East Brunswick schools.

This week’s player, nominated by the district Athletic Department, is Freshman golfer Sayaka Carpenter.

"We won the GMC Tournament with a record low of 179 for four scores,” said girls golf coach Mark Motusesky. “Sayaka Carpenter won the individual title with a 42. She’s the first freshman to win the individual since the tournament started.”

The team also won the Central Jersey Golf Tournament last week with a score of 180.
