Churchill Student Donates Hair to Cancer Project

Thirteen-year-old Sean Rosenthal got a haircut for the first time in two years and donated it to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths project.

It had been two years since Sean Rosenthal had a hair cut, but on Tuesday, Nov. 3, he finally dragged himself into to do the deed.

Moments later, 8 inches of hair had been separated into four pony tails, and then cut and donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

The 13-year-old student had been growing his hair for more than two years and chose early November to donate because it’s just before his Bar Mitzvah. The donation is part of his Mitzvah.

The Beautiful Lengths project is a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society. According to the Pantene web site, the project has meant that thousands of free, real-hair wigs have been donated to women living with cancer. The effort was created and funded by Pantene, and wigs are distributed through select American Cancer Society wig banks across the country.
