Volunteers Needed to Deliver Meals to Seniors

The Senior Center has been delivering meals to home bound seniors for more than a quarter century.

The needs help.

If you or someone you know has a few hours a day, or even just one or two days a week, then they can help deliver meals to homebound senior citizen residents.

For 26 years the center has been bringing meals to these residents every day, Monday through Friday, with the help of volunteers.

Six volunteers are needed each day. The volunteers will pair off into groups of two, with one driving and the other bringing the meal to the resident’s doorstep.

Those who receive the food are usually found through referrals and requests and very often, the visit is their only contact with people all day. If recipients aren't home and if they haven't told the Senior Center that whey would be out, volunteers then call the center and emergency contacts are reached.
